Milos Kosta Papich, 62, born in Barberton, Ohio, on February 5, 1962, passed away unexpectedly to join his father in eternal rest on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maja Papich; children, Aleksandar Papich, Maria Papich and Milan Papich; mother, Sophia Papich; sisters, Maria Papich-Forsyth and Maia Papich (Wally) Radjenovic; nieces and nephews, Maxwell Forsyth, Tia Forsyth, Stefan Radjenovic, Andrei Radjenovic and Lucca Radjenovic. Milos had many close friends and Kumovi throughout the country and abroad, and everyone who knew him knew he had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. More importantly he was the most dedicated son anyone could ask for.
Milos was a graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School (1980) and a graduate of Akron University, with a BA in Economics. He found joy in music and his extremely strong Serbian Orthodox faith. He was a devout Christian, being a member of St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church in Akron, Ohio. He was a member of the Isidor Bajich Church Choir in Akron and fa ounding member of Kosovo Men’s Choir of which he was a member, past president and soloist. He traveled throughout Serbia singing praises with the Kosovo Men’s Choir and was invited to sing at St. Sava Cathedral in Vracar, Belgrade, Serbia in 2008. He was also a board member of the Serbian Singing Federation of America.
Brother Milos was a member of SNF Lodge #125 St. Archangel Michael, Akron, Ohio.
Milos honorably continued the family business, Belgrade Gardens, Inc., in Barberton which was established in 1933 by his grandparents Mike and Smiljka Topalsky, then passed onto his father and mother, Kosta and Sophia Papich and most recently managed by Milos and his loving wife, Maja. He said it was his “Labor of Love” and there wasn’t a time you didn’t pop your head in the kitchen to see his smiling face frying up the delicious and famous fried chicken that the business has been famous for over 91 years! He worked with the world-famous restaurateur and chef Michael Symon who gave Belgrade Gardens the Food Feud Fried Chicken Award on his famous Food Channel Network broadcasted nationwide.
Milos loved managing and caring for the family properties in Naples, Florida and also loved to travel, especially in Serbia, homeland of his wife and father. His dedication and love to everyone he touched and his laugh will always remain in our hearts and minds.
Calling hours will be Friday, January 31, 2025 from 4 to 8 p.m. with Pomen Service @ 7 p.m. at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church at 2552 Pickle Road, Akron, Ohio 44312. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Burial to follow at Serbian Orthodox Monastery Marcha, 5095 Broadview Road, Richfield, Ohio 44286.
Milos will be missed by his loving wife, family, friends, Kumovi, his dedicated Belgrade Gardens family and the entire Serbian Community. May he rest in peace and may his memory be eternal. Vjecnaja Pamjat.
